The 2017 Canmore Climbing Festival is the third of the annual event to take place in the heart of the Bow Valley.

Canmore has long been home to Canadian climbers. The history of the sport in the area can be traced back to the late 1800s when Europeans arrived to make the first ascents of the local mountains.
